    Herb Rice
    Herb Rice is a Coast Salish artist working from Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island. Comtemporary and traditional wood carvings are his specialty and he is a master wood carver. He is the artist-in-residence at the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre and part of the Coast Salish Journey (a group of First Nations Coast Salish artists). His works reside all over the world and he gives carving classes at the centre in March and October each year.

    Traditional Treasures - Carol Young
    Carol Young is a Haida artist who creates Native characters inspired by her culture. She began her work in 2001 and one of her first pieces won first place in its division at the New Mexico Intertribal in Gallup. She's won several prizes since then, and has been interviewed on television. She designs her character's clothing herself and also does wood and argilite carving.
