This lake is located about 1.5 hours west of O'Connell Lake via gravel roads. The lake has a good boat launch, a fire pit and a picnic table, and is a popular swimming spot.
Accessible via logging road from Port Alice, this river provides productive fishing. Visitors can take an eight hour hike from Mahatta River to Lawn Point, where they can catch an impressive view of the open Pacific.
A great place to spend a sunny day, Victoria Lake is just 5 km (3 mi) east of Port Alice. Popular with kayakers, the lake also offers a picnic area alongside a sandy beach. This large lake is fed by limestone-enriched water from Marble River and the fish swimming in its waters are big. Prime fishing is from April to June and September to October. Get there via the logging road from Port Alice. Mind the trucks.
