Craigdarroch Castle Completed in 1890, Craigdarroch Castle reflects the huge wealth amassed by the Dunsmuirs from the coalfields of Vancouver Island. This 20,000 square foot historic house has four floors containing exquisite stained glass and lavish Victorian era furnishings. Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park This Estate was the home of the late Robert J. (Bob) Filberg and his wife Florence (McCormack). Master builder William Hagarty supervised the building of the Lodge, which commenced with the clearing of the land in 1929. The Filberg family lived there for many years developing the grounds and several unique outbuildings. After Filberg's death in 1977, the lodge was made a public facility. Hatley Park Castle and Museum A national historic site and now the campus of Royal Roads University, this castle and estate was once the private residence of James Dunsmuir, son of Robert Dunsmuir who built Craigdarroch Castle. The estate features three distinctive beautiful gardens and parkland for a scenic stroll and the spectacular setting and surroundings of the estate make it a popular venue for weddings, corporate events and private functions.
