    The Port Theatre
    The performances at the Port Theatre are as magical as its waterfront location in downtown Nanaimo. The 800-seat theatre opened in 1989 and features state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment. Concerts, live theatre and dance shows are just some of the entertainment lighting the stage year-round. Additionally, the venue hosts meetings, community events and educational conferences.

    Alert Bay Big House
    Built in 1963, this big house is modeled on the traditional residence of the Kwakwaka'wakw people. The building is now used primarily for potlatches, a type of celebration. The T'sasala Cultural Group regularly perform traditional songs and dances here.

    This newer venue has hosted an assortment of events and activities, including various community workshops, concerts and recreation programs. The hall can also be rented.

    Big House
    This gathering place and cultural venue of the Kwagiutl people occasionally plays host to traditional potlatch ceremonies, which consists of a dinner, a gift-giving ceremony, music and traditional dances.
