    Cormorant Channel Provincial Marine Park
    This undeveloped provincial marine park is located in the Cormorant Channel, north of Alert Bay. Popular activities include fishing, diving and kayaking. The park is accessible by private boat from Alert Bay or Telegraph Cove.

    Honeymoon Bay Ecological Reserve
    Visit the Honeymoon Bay Ecological Reserve (formerly known as the Sutton Creek Wild Flower Reserve and the Honeymoon Bay Wildflower Reserve) and view dozens of species of wildflowers. The park is noted for its abundance of pink fawn lilies.

    A park with parking and picnic facilities as well as trails that lead to the beach along Cordova Bay and up Mount Douglas. Those who climb to the summit will be rewarded with views of Victoria, Saanich, and the Cascade and Olympic mountains.

    He-Tin-Kis Park
    This park is best known for the He-Kin-Tis Trail, a 1.1 km boardwalk loop with great views of the bays on the Pacific coast. The trail also connects to the Wild Pacific Trail. Picnic tables and washroom facilities exist in the park.

    Claud Elliot Lake Provincial Park
    Established in 1995, the Claud Elliot Lake Provincial Park protects habitat for fish such as salmon, steelhead and trout, and wildlife including Black-tailed deer, Roosevelt elk, wolves, cougars, black bears and waterfowl. The park's two lakes, Claude Elliot Lake and Fickle Lake, can be utilized by sport fisherman and are also suitable for canoeing, kayaking and swimming.

    Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park
    This park is well-known for its fantastic caving opportunities in a network of natural caves, without route markings or lights. A range of guided tours for families and adventure-seekers are also available. A trail from the parking area leads across a suspension bridge over the Big Qualicum River to the Caving Centre. The park is a great place for hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, cycling and picnicking too and there is a day-use area featuring a shallow swimming area.

    White River Provincial Park
    Dubbed the Cathedral Grove of the North Island because of its Douglas fir and western red cedar trees, White River Provincial Park was the setting for parts of the film the "Scarlet Letter". Visitors to the area, which is an important habitat for black bears, may enjoy fishing in the White River and hunting in designated areas.

    Sooke Potholes Provincial Park
    All year hiking, watching the salmon spawning in the fall and picnicking in warm weather are enjoyable activities at this provincial park. On a hot summer day, it is refreshing to swim in the potholes, formed by thousands of years of erosion by the Sooke River. Basic day use amenities exist in the park.

    For summer fun, head to Arbutus Park, located on Alder Street. Visitors can enjoy swimming, a picnic area and playground. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer. Other facilities include change rooms and a concrete wharf.

    Memory Island Provincial Park
    This tiny island park within Shawnigan Lake can only be reached by boat, canoe or kayak. It has a day-use picnic area and visitors can fish in the surrounding lake. Various species of birds, small mammals, amphibians and reptiles live on the island.

    Long Beach
    One of the most popular regions of the Pacific Rim National Park, Long Beach is an area of rare breath-taking beauty. The sandy beaches welcome droves of picnickers, beachcombers and strollers each year. This is a perfect area to watch the Pacific Gray Whales travel during spring and fall.

    Flores Island Provincial Park
    The 10km Walk the Wild Side Trail from Ahousat village to Cow Bay is one of many potential activities in this park. The trail was originally used by the area's First Nations people to access sandy beaches on the island's west side. Along with the trail hiking, fishing, kayaking, beach camping and watching grey whales during their annual migration have made this park a very popular spot for visitors.

    Clayoquot Plateau Provincial Park
    Access to this undeveloped and remote park is very difficult and can only be done via logging roads. Those who manage to access the park's high elevation plateau will be rewarded with views of Clayoquot sound as well as the old-growth forest which includes Sitka spruce, hemlock and cedar.

    Robson Bight Ecological Reserve
    This ecological reserve is located 20 km south of Telegraph Cove in Johnstone Strait. While the area is actually closed to visitors, good opportunities for camping, boating and whale watching exist just outside the park.

    Taylor Arm Provincial Park
    Located 23 km northwest of Port Alberni, Taylor Arm is close to Sproat Lake and offers group campsites only. A day use area is also on site. Several trails exist to access Sprout Lake.

    Benson Creek Falls Regional Park
    A 22-hectare (55-acre) forested park located on the lower western slopes of Mt. Benson above Brannen Lake. The steep ravines of Benson and Flynnfall Creeks dissect the park. The park's terrain can be difficult, however, those that visit will find informal trails through the forest, and two sets of waterfalls on Benson Creek. Caution is advised, particularly on the steep trails and when crossing the main creeks as there are no bridges in place.

    Newcastle Island Provincial Marine Park
    Newcastle Island became a Provincial Marine Park in 1961, when the nearby city of Nanaimo granted it to the province after having acquired the island from the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1955. Situated in Nanaimo Harbour, Newcastle Island possesses a rich natural and cultural history. The island's shoreline is dominated by steep sandstone cliffs and ledges with some sandy gravel beaches. There are many caves and caverns along the shoreline, providing an appealing contrast to the upland that is covered with Douglas-fir, Arbutus, Garry Oak and Dogwood trees.
