Established in 1995, the Claud Elliot Lake Provincial Park protects habitat for fish such as salmon, steelhead and trout, and wildlife including Black-tailed deer, Roosevelt elk, wolves, cougars, black bears and waterfowl. The park's two lakes, Claude Elliot Lake and Fickle Lake, can be utilized by sport fisherman and are also suitable for canoeing, kayaking and swimming.
This ecological reserve is a preservation area for the area's impressive old-growth trees.
Located in the Nimpkish Valley, this provincial park is considered to be one of the most scenic on Vancouver Island, and is very popular among hikers, boaters and fishermen. The area boasts old-growth forest, glaciers, waterways, meadows, small lakes and natural habitat for deer, elk and fish.
